NOT SO URBAN SKETCHING AT DILLINGTON HOUSE
Urban Sketching is a worldwide phenomenon that brings like-minded individuals together to ‘draw the world, one building at a time’. This one day workshop uses that concept as a way of exploring Dillington House and its grounds. Using a route map, we will explore Dillington, sketching as we go and on the way, learn how to deal with texture and mass and use tone, perspective and proportion to record our day’s journey. We will also come to appreciate that sketching our world makes us far more intimate with it than merely looking at it and that drawing is a way of discovering what the mind’s eye had first glossed over.
Suitable for complete beginners and anyone with an interest in improving their visual acuity.
