Watercolour Essentials

A class for beginners and rusty returners!

A paint brush, a jar of water and a few colours; you don’t need much to paint a watercolour, but that’s when the trouble begins! Taking inspiration from masters of the medium from Sandby to Sargent and Hockney to Hambling, David provides all you need to know to negotiate this tricky but rewarding medium.

Topics include:

• The history of watercolour painting
• Mixing colours
• Glazing and wet-into-wet
• Choosing the right materials
• Elements of landscape (trees, skies)
• Tips, tricks and other media
• Painting people and other animals

The picture you always wanted to paint is only a few brushstrokes away!
