A late afternoon/early evening opportunity to learn all the essentials of this richly rewarding art form!
It’s so easy to begin painting in watercolour, but many of us are quite rightly so dismayed by our first attempts that we put down our brushes and colours, never to pick them up again.
This informal and accessible course seeks to change all of that, by explaining why things go wrong when we try to paint and how you can put it right. You’ll also be encouraged to make a mess and start all over again as often as you want! And ask all those ‘stupid’ questions no one else would dream of asking!
Let David guide you, step-by-step, with demo’s and illustrated examples, through the pitfalls and many pleasures of this challenging medium.
Topics will include:
- essential colours and equipment
- tone, tint and shade
- colour mixing
- laying a (perfect!) wash
Tables and chairs and a roll of newsprint paper are provided. Any extra materials required for sessions using will be discussed in class.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available for a small donation.
